1. Information Dab processes
When you actively use Dab, the extension may process information from the webpage you are currently viewing so it can perform the feature you requested. This can include visible colors, computed element styles, basic element labels, page hostname, and a short text preview associated with an element you explicitly inspect.
2. Information stored locally
Dab may save your recent color captures, capture history, saved palettes, palette names, selected contrast colors, and the latest inspected-element result using Chrome extension storage. This information is used only to make Dab's features work between sessions.
3. Browser permissions
Dab uses a small set of Chrome permissions:
- storage — saves your colors, palettes, history, and preferences locally.
- activeTab — provides temporary access to the tab you are actively using after you invoke a Dab feature.
- scripting — allows Dab to run its page scanner or element inspector on the active page when you explicitly request those actions.
Dab does not request broad, always-on access to every website you visit.
4. Data transmission
Dab does not operate a cloud account system or remote analytics service for its core extension features. Captured colors and saved palettes are not uploaded to Dab servers.
5. Personal information
Dab does not ask you to provide your name, postal address, phone number, payment information, or an account profile in order to use the extension.
6. Selling or sharing data
Dab does not sell personal data. Dab does not use your browsing activity, captured colors, or saved palettes for advertising or profiling.
7. Third-party websites
Dab can be used on websites that are operated by third parties. Those websites have their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy applies to Dab itself and does not control the practices of websites you visit.
8. Removing locally stored data
You can remove individual colors and palettes from within Dab. Removing the extension from Chrome may also remove its locally stored extension data, subject to Chrome's own storage behavior.
9. Children
Dab is a general-purpose productivity and design utility and is not specifically directed to children under 13.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Dab's functionality or data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised update date.
